For the words worth keeping.
A good explanation can live in a video. A great idea can arrive in a voice note. We help you bring those words into the rest of your work.
Less replaying. More doing.
We built textfromlink around one small moment: you hear something useful, and you want to work with it. That might be a quote from an interview, an explanation from a lesson, or an idea in your own voice memo.
Paste a public link or upload a recording. Get the words, keep the timestamps, and bring them into your notes, research, or next draft.
Simple, with the limits visible
Sign in for a one-time 60-second trial. Longer recordings use prepaid credits, with no recurring subscription. We return text and subtitle files only, never media.
We tell you when a platform cannot be accessed, when a job fails, and whether text came from captions or speech recognition. Examples on the site are explicitly illustrative; they are not presented as customer recordings or accuracy benchmarks.
Built on open-source work
Public caption and metadata lookup uses yt-dlp. Local speech recognition uses faster-whisper, and audio decoding uses FFmpeg. Managed transcription can be connected when speaker separation is needed.
