✳TEXTFROMLINK / PRIVACY

Your words stay yours.

A practical explanation of what we process, why we need it, and when it is removed.

Last updated: 29 October 2026

1. Scope and contact

This policy explains how TextFromLink processes information when you visit our website, sign in, submit a recording or public link, purchase minutes, or contact support. TextFromLink is operated by EvokeFlux Tech. For privacy questions or requests, contact hey@evokeflux.com.

We determine how information is used to manage accounts, payments, security and support. When you submit a recording containing other people's information, you remain responsible for having a lawful basis to provide it and for giving any required notices or obtaining consent. This policy does not replace a separate data-processing agreement where one is required for your use.

2. Information we process

  • Account information: your Google account identifier, email address and name, along with session and device information used to maintain account access. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Submitted content: your uploaded recording or submitted URL, available captions, processing preferences, generated transcript, speaker labels and timestamps. Recordings may contain personal information about you or other people.
  • Service records: task identifiers, status, duration, usage and credit records, timestamps, limited source identifiers, and technical or network information needed for security, troubleshooting and request limits.
  • Purchases: order and payment references, purchased minutes, balances, refunds and dispute status. Stripe collects payment and billing information through its checkout; we do not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.
  • Support: information you choose to send us, including your contact details and correspondence. Please avoid sending complete recordings, passwords or card details unless a specific, appropriate support process requires them.

3. Why we use information

We use information to authenticate users, obtain and process authorized recordings, deliver transcripts, administer the trial and prepaid minutes, reconcile purchases, respond to support and privacy requests, prevent abuse, address copyright complaints and meet legal obligations.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, these activities rely on performance of our agreement with you, compliance with legal obligations, or legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, subject to your rights. Where consent is required for an optional activity, we will seek it separately; you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. You must separately establish any permissions needed for the people in your recordings.

4. Providers and disclosures

We use providers to deliver the requested service:

  • Website operation and security: service providers process information needed to deliver the website, protect accounts, and temporarily store submitted recordings and results.
  • Transcription: speech-recognition providers receive the audio and language settings needed to produce your transcript.
  • Sign-in: Google provides the account details you choose to use to sign in. We do not send your recordings to Google as part of sign-in.
  • Payments: Stripe processes payment and billing information for checkout, receipts, refunds and disputes.

Processing a submitted link also involves contacting its source platform and may involve reading available public captions. We do not use your social-platform cookies or sign into those platforms on your behalf. Providers may also process information for their own security or legal obligations under their applicable policies.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information where necessary to comply with lawful requests, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or resolve disputes. If the business is transferred, any transferred personal information remains subject to applicable data-protection obligations, and we will give notice when required.

5. Recordings, training and retention

We do not use your recordings or transcripts to train our models. Speech-recognition providers process recordings to deliver transcription and may retain information under their applicable service, security and legal policies.

  • Recordings are used temporarily to produce your transcript and are scheduled for deletion when processing ends. A technical interruption may delay deletion. We do not offer your recordings for download or publish them.
  • Transcripts are available for 24 hours after completion, or until you delete them sooner. Download what you need before expiry. Edits in the transcript editor remain in the current browser tab and are not saved as a cloud document.
  • The submitted link is removed from the processing record when the task finishes. Limited information identifying the source is kept for 180 days to handle copyright complaints and misuse, then removed through scheduled deletion. This is separate from transcript content and purchase records.
  • Account and session records support access and security. Deletion ends account access and starts content cleanup. It does not necessarily erase all account-related records immediately.
  • Minimum trial-use records may survive deletion to prevent repeated free-trial claims. Purchase records and the account information needed to resolve them may remain while balances, debts, pending payments or disputes are unresolved, or as required for accounting and legal obligations.
  • Support and security records are retained according to their purpose and applicable obligations. A valid legal preservation requirement may require limited records to be retained longer.

These service retention rules do not control copies you export, information retained by the source platform, or independent payment-provider records. Expired or deleted content is not a recovery or backup service.

6. Cookies and browser storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect your account, remember access to an older wallet and help checkout work reliably. Blocking or clearing these items may sign you out, disrupt checkout or remove access to an old anonymous wallet if you have not saved its recovery code. Treat recovery codes like passwords.

We do not use advertising trackers or analyze customer recordings for advertising. Google sign-in and Stripe checkout may use their own necessary technologies under their privacy notices. Any future optional tracking that requires consent will be handled separately.

7. Security and international processing

We use access controls, protected connections and private storage to reduce unauthorized access. No service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your Google account, recovery codes and exported files, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Your information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer arrangements relevant to your data.

8. Your choices and rights

You can delete an available transcript on its result page and delete your account through Account & security. Depending on applicable law, you may also request access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction of processing, or object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent for an activity that relies on it and complain to the relevant data-protection authority. These rights are subject to applicable exceptions, including financial and legal retention obligations.

Email hey@evokeflux.com with enough information to locate your account or request. We may ask for proportionate identity verification before releasing or deleting information. Do not email passwords or full card details. We respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any permitted extension or refusal. You will not be treated unfairly for exercising applicable privacy rights.

9. Children and changes

The service is intended for people able to enter into the Terms of Use. Do not submit children's information without the permissions and legal basis required for that processing. Contact us if you believe information has been submitted unlawfully so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

We will update the date when this policy changes and provide additional notice of material changes where required. A policy update does not by itself grant consent for a new use that requires consent.
