TikTok video to transcript in three steps

A simple workflow that gets out of your way.

01

Submit the video link

Use an individual public TikTok video or share link you own or are authorized to process. We check access and duration before you start transcription.

02

Confirm, then review the draft

Read the estimated charge and confirm the task. Once it is ready, compare names, numbers and uncertain phrases with the original recording.

03

Export the format you need

Copy text or export TXT for notes, SRT for a compatible editor, or VTT for a web player. Check cue timing before using subtitles with an edited video.

A TikTok video to transcript workflow, step by step

Start with one video, including a share link

Use the full TikTok video URL or a vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com share link. Profiles, search results and image carousels are not a request to transcribe a video. Public visibility in your app does not guarantee that the recording is accessible here.

Check duration before committing minutes

The preflight checks the recording length and available allowance before a paid transcription starts. Read the estimate shown by the form. If duration cannot be confirmed, the service does not automatically start a paid task. An access failure is different from a speech-recognition failure.

Confirm the task once

After the estimate, confirm the recording and wait for the result page. During processing, the required allowance is reserved. Completed paid jobs use one credit per started minute of actual audio; unused reservations are released. Failed tasks do not consume credits.

Review the generated words

TikTok transcription uses speech recognition. It does not fetch the creator’s original subtitle track or read stickers and text on screen. Listen for names, dates, background voices and words masked by music. Use Edit text to correct the draft; changes remain in the current tab and are included in exports.

Choose TXT, SRT or VTT deliberately

TXT is a readable transcript for documents and notes. SRT and VTT add cue timestamps for compatible editors and players. If you cut or rearrange the video, check subtitle timing against that edit. This service does not edit the video, adjust the timeline or publish captions to TikTok.

Use an original file when the link fails

Switch to Upload a file with a recording you own or have permission to process. This avoids depending on access to a public post, but upload size and duration limits still apply. We do not provide video downloads, request TikTok login details or access private accounts.

Supported files: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM, MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, AAC. Uploaded files must be 100 MB or smaller and fit your duration allowance. Sign in for a one-time cumulative 60-second trial; paid recordings can be up to 60 minutes. Both upload size and duration limits apply. TXT, SRT and VTT exports include available timestamps. Original-language transcription, with automatic language detection. Accuracy varies by language and recording.

THE LITTLE THINGS, EXPLAINED

A few good questions.

Clear answers before you press transcribe.

How does TikTok video to transcript conversion work?+

Submit an accessible public video link, confirm the duration and charge estimate, then start transcription. Review the resulting speech transcript and copy or export TXT, SRT or VTT.

Can I use a short TikTok share link?+

Yes, supported vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com video links can be submitted. The destination must be an accessible public video. Share links do not grant access to private or restricted content.

Is transcription started if the duration check fails?+

No. The service needs a valid duration estimate before it admits a paid task. If the link cannot be checked, try an authorized original file using Upload a file.

Will I get the creator’s exact captions?+

No. Speech recognition generates a new transcript from the audio. It may differ from the creator’s written captions, and it does not read text printed on the video.

Which export should I use after editing the text?+

Choose TXT for notes, SRT for editors that accept SubRip, or VTT for compatible web players. Exports include text edits in the current tab. Review subtitle sync separately if you change the video.
